Pioneered by Toyota, this simple production management system works to align inventory levels with actual consumption. Small lot production jobs begin when a demand signal is received from a downstream process step. The demand can be as simple as a pull card, empty parts bin or an email from a customer saying, “Send more parts”. A well-executed Kanban system provides supply chain consistency and eliminates inventory shortages or overages.
- Lights Out Production
CNC machines with advanced automation features can be operated without an attendant machinist, including overnight while JACO’s production team is away. Well managed CNC Horizontal mills can have multiple jobs queued to run in succession, making numerous different parts in a single overnight shift. This mode of operation adds both value and capacity.
- Just-In-Time Delivery (JIT)
Parts, assembly and kits arrive at your shipping dock on time, just as you need them for assembly.
- Dock to Stock
As a qualified supplier, parts made by JACO do not have to be inspected by customers’ Receiving Inspection department. Parts received at your shipping dock can transfer directly to your lean production floor for immediate assembly into your product. Now that saves a lot of time and money in your factory!
- Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)
JACO team member enters customer facility to replenish stock – in the warehouse or on the production line - with JACO certified parts. We’ll perform a cycle count and remove empty bins and packaging.

Clinical Eye Care Equipment Customer Success Story
Jaco Machine Works supplies precision opto-mechanical mounts to a leading manufacturer of clinical eye care equipment. Part machining is done overnight on Jaco’s automated horizontal machining cells, then inspected on our programmable CMM. The parts are finished and passivated in-house, then assembled and kitted into reusable packaging. Jaco manages part inventory, delivering our kits directly into the customer’s optics clean room, bypassing receiving inspection.
