SCIGN Mount Assembly
JACO Machine Works is a leading manufacturer of SCIGN mount assemblies for a wide range of geodetic and geophysical applications. With decades of CNC machining expertise and a stringent quality management system, our assemblies guarantee precision, durability, and reliability.
A SCIGN mount assembly is a specialized setup used for mounting GPS antennas in various geodetic applications. SCIGN stands for Southern California Integrated GPS Network, which developed this mount to ensure high precision and stability for GPS measurements. These GPS antennas are used to monitor a variety of important parameters making them indispensable tools in geodesy and related fields:
- Positioning: GPS antennas provide precise coordinates of a location on the Earth’s surface, which is crucial for mapping and surveying.
- Earthquake Monitoring: By detecting minute movements of the Earth’s crust, GPS antennas help in studying tectonic activities and predicting earthquakes.
- Sea Level Changes: Combined with tide gauges, GPS antennas monitor global sea level changes which is vital for climate studies.
- Atmospheric Studies: GPS signals are affected as they pass through the Earth’s atmosphere, allowing scientists to study atmospheric conditions and changes.
GX1000 Components and Assembly
Our SCIGN assemblies (GX1000) mount a Trimble GPS antenna onto a 1-1/4” NPT male pipe threaded monument. The components of the mount assembly work together to ensure accurate and stable GPS measurements:
Top Plate and Bottom Plate: Manufactured out of top quality 300 series stainless steel, the top and bottom plates provide a stable base for the antenna, minimizing movement and ensuring consistent positioning.Antenna Bolt: This secures the GPS antenna to the mount, preventing any shifts that could affect data accuracy.
Clamping Bolt and Center Support Bolt: These bolts add extra stability, ensuring the antenna remains firmly in place.
Leveling Screws: These ensure precise leveling of the antenna, while allowing levelling in two degrees of freedom:
- Tilt Adjustment: By adjusting the leveling screws on one axis, you can tilt the antenna forward or backward.
- Roll Adjustment: By adjusting the leveling screws on the perpendicular axis, you can roll the antenna side to side.

Mount System
JACO can provide components to adapt the 1-1/4” Mount to 1.0”, 2.0” and 3.0” diameter rods. We can provide custom adapters to fit your specifications. Our design provides clearance to access antenna fastening and leveling screws under the bottom plate, and provides clearance for field welds to secure installation. All components are made from 300 series stainless steel and made in the USA
Serialization
JACO’s SCIGN Mount Assemblies can be machine engraved with a 4-digit serial number in three locations: the top plate, bottom plate, and antenna bolt. Please provide the serial number range when placing your order. We also offer a laser engraving option for custom text/branding.
